Author Guidelines

The article must be an original scientific work derived from study, research, or conceptual analysis relevant to the fields of business and social sciences, and must not have been previously published in any media, whether journals or proceedings, as evidenced by an anti-plagiarism statement.

Articles will be checked for similarity using software such as iThenticate. Articles with a similarity score above 30% will not be accepted. Articles must be written in Bahasa Indonesia or preferably in English, consistent with the scope and topic of Business Journal: Jurnal Bisnis dan Sosial.

Article Writing Requirements:

  1. The article length must be between 20 and 25 pages using MS Word for Windows, A4 paper size, 1.5 spacing, and Times New Roman font.

  2. The article structure must include: Title, Author Name, Abstract, Introduction, Literature Review, Research Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

  3. The title must be specific and effective, not exceeding 15 words.

  4. Author identity must include full names without academic titles, affiliation or institution, and email address. Example:

  5. Authors must attach a curriculum vitae (CV) containing full name, place and date of birth, institutional address (street name, city, postal code, email, telephone), and correspondence email.

  6. Abstracts must be provided in both English and Indonesian, containing 100 to 150 words and provide at least five keywords for the article.

  7. Every citation must refer to recent sources (last 10 years), listed completely in the references and written in running notes using the author-year system. Examples:
    …this was also stated by Wardhana (2018) that human resources are important company assets.
    …human capital development is based on talent management applied by the company (Wardhana & Saragih, 2018).
    …international business activities are strongly influenced by globalization (Wardhana, 2018).
    …exports and imports are the oldest international business activities in the world (Wardhana, 2014; Syahputra, 2018).
    …Wardhana in Nurhayati (2018) states that …

  8. References to institutional works should, where possible, use acronyms. Example:
    …disciplinary sanctions have been regulated in company regulations (PP PT Telkom) and labor law (UU No.13/2003).

  9. Footnotes are not used in the article.

  10. References should prioritize primary sources such as research reports (including theses and dissertations) or research articles in scientific journals or magazines. The reference list must include only sources cited in the article.

Reference and Bibliography Guidelines:

References and bibliography must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) Style. Authors may use reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote. Guidelines:

  1. Only references cited in the article should appear in the reference list.

  2. References must be arranged alphabetically by the last name of the first author or by institution.

  3. At least 80% of the references must be journal articles.

  4. Use initials for first names.

  5. The year of publication follows the author’s name.

  6. Multiple works by the same author must be ordered chronologically.

  7. Multiple works in the same year by the same author must be distinguished with letters (a, b, c).

Other Writing Requirements:

  1. Tables must be numbered sequentially, given a title in bold, and placed above the table.

  2. Figures, including diagrams and photographs, must be numbered sequentially, given a title in bold, and placed below the figure.

  3. Articles must be submitted via the journal’s online submission system at http://journals.telkomuniversity.ac.id/business. Authors must adhere to the Business Journal: Jurnal Bisnis dan Sosial submission guidelines. A template can be downloaded from the journal’s homepage.

The editorial board reserves the right to return articles that do not comply with these guidelines. The editors may also adjust article formatting without altering the substance of the work. 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • check The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • check The submission file must be in Microsoft Word format only. Files other than MS Word will be desk rejected.
  • check Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • check The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • check The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
