Abstract

One of the fast growing business developments at the moment is store based retailing business which is the most dynamic industry. One thing that can give more value in a retail business is to pay attention to the interior design of the retail store space. Interior design in a retail store must be in accordance with the user related activities. In this study, retail stores to be researched are narrowed down by choosing the type of retail store that sells the special needs of pregnant women. Pregnant women have anthropometric changes from humans in general, so it certainly affects behavior when they are in a retail store. One very significant thing related to the behavior of pregnant women is the enlargement of the personal space zone. With the expanding personal space of pregnant women, the behavior that arises when in a retail store is always to keep a distance so that other people do not easily touch or nudge the belly of pregnant women. This study uses an experimental method through a quantitative approach. The research method used is 'stimulus response'. By means of this experiment, the comfortable perception of pregnant women is expected to emerge through retail store simulations through images that are felt to be a comfort to visit.
