Submission Preparation Checklist

• The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
• The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
• Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
• The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
• The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
• If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
• Articles have never been sent and published to other publishers in the form of any media (printed / electronic). If there is duplicate publishing, the author is willing to delete the article from this journal.

Author Guidelines

What we look for in your article

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

We consider for publication which:

• report original science;
• area of interest are of Accounting and Finance [Accounting and Financial Information, Accounting Information Systems, Auditing, Financial research and behavioural accounting, Corporate finance, Cost Accounting, Ethical Issues in Accounting and Financial Reporting, Financial Accounting, Financial Management, International Accounting and Finance, Investment, Management Accounting, Portfolio, Management, Risk Management, Social and Environmental Accounting, Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, Market Discipline, Behavioural Finance, International Finance, Market Microstructure]
• have not been published previously in the peer-reviewed literature, including in another language,
• are not under consideration for publication in any other peer-reviewed journal or book available through a library or by purchase;
• JAF manuscripts are judged not only on the depth and scope of the ideas presented and their contributions to the field but also on their clarity and whether they can be read and understood

General

• File Types: Word (doc, docx or PDF)
• Maximum file size: 2 MB
• Font: 12 point, Times New Roman
• Text [Including references]: single-spaced, justify
• Page Layout: 1-inch margins on all sides with page numbers in the bottom right corner
• Page Maximum: 20 pages, properly formatted and inclusive of title, abstract, keywords, text, references, tables, figures, and footnotes
• Papers can be written in English 
• Figures and tables should be embedded at the appropriate point within the text, rather than placed at the end of the manuscript
• Use the Mendeley or ZOTERO tools to write your citations.

Article Structure

• Title with the title of the article, author(s) name, title, institution, address, telephone number, and e-mail address
• Abstract: Consists 250 words (maximum), and keywords cover approximately five to seven words.
• Introduction
• Research Methodology
• Result and Discussion
• Conclusions, limitations, and suggestions
• References: References for the last 10 years, primary references, or journals are preferred; comply with the APA citation style. It is recommended to use Zotero or Mendeley for citations and references to avoid incorrect or missing references.

PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

This is the statement of ethics for JAF published by Penerbit PPM Universitas Telkom. This statement was adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and covers the code of ethics for the Editor-in-Chief, editorial board members, reviewers, and authors.

DUTIES OF AUTHORS

• Have the responsibility of ensuring only original work is submitted.
• Must not reproduce work that has been previously published in other journals.
• Must not submit any articles that are being reviewed or considered by the journal to other journals simultaneously.
• Are only allowed to publish their work elsewhere after receiving a formal rejection from the journal or if their request to withdraw their work is officially accepted by the journal.
• Must inform the Editor of any inaccuracy of data in their published work so that correction or retraction of the article can be done.
• Should make significant contributions and be held accountable for any shortcomings in their work. 

DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

• Must disclose any competing interests before agreeing to review a submission.
• Can refuse to review any submission due to a conflict of interest or inadequate knowledge.
• Review all submissions objectively, fairly, and professionally. 
• Address any ethical misconduct encountered while reviewing to the Editor for further action.
• Should ensure the originality of a submission and be alert to any plagiarism and redundant publication.
• Must not discuss the content of the submission without permission.
• Adhere to the time allocated for the review process.

DUTIES OF EDITORIAL BOARD MEMBERS

• Actively contribute to the development and the greater good of the journal.
• Act as ambassadors for the journal.
• Continuously support and promote the journal.
• Review any work assigned to them.

DUTIES OF EDITOR-in-CHIEF

• Evaluate manuscripts fairly and solely on their intellectual merit.
• Ensure confidentiality of manuscripts and not disclose any information regarding manuscripts to anyone other than the people involved in the publishing process.
• Has the responsibility to decide when and which articles are to be published.
• Actively seek the views of board members, reviewers, and authors on how to improve/ increase the image and visibility of the journal.
• Give clear instructions to potential contributors on the submission process and what is expected of the authors.
• Ensure appropriate reviewers are selected/ identified for the reviewing process.

PLAGIARISM

Authors should submit only original work that is not plagiarized and has not been published or being considered elsewhere.  Appropriate software may be used by the editorial office to check for similarities of submitted manuscripts with existing literature. Inclusion of fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements is unacceptable. Work and/or words from other publications must be appropriately cited or quoted.

REPORTING

Authors should state their results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation. The methods used in the work should be clearly and unambiguously described so that the findings can be repeated and confirmed by other researchers.

CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

A statement on conflict of interest must be included in the manuscript if authors receive any support that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed. 

AUTHORSHIP AND COLLABORATION

Name of authors listed in a paper should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the report. Only those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the work must be acknowledged or listed as contributors. It is the duty of the corresponding author to ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper.  All co-authors must approve the final version of the paper and agree to the version of the paper before submission.

MULTIPLE OR REDUNDANT

Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research output in more than one journal or primary publication. A similar manuscript should not be submitted to more than one journal concurrently as this constitutes as unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

OPEN ACCESS AND COPYRIGHT

All articles in JAF are published with open access. This means that the author(s) retain copyright, but the content is free to download, distribute, and adapt for commercial or non-commercial purposes. However, appropriate attribution must be made to the original article. Upon submission, the author(s) automatically grant  JAF a license to publish, including to display, store, copy, and reuse the content. The license will cease if the author chooses to withdraw the paper by writing to the editor within a month of submission. The paper cannot be withdrawn once it is published.

Use of AI-Assisted Tools by Authors

Authors may use AI-assisted tools solely to support language editing or improve clarity. AI tools must not be used to generate research content, data, analyses, or conclusions.

Authors remain fully responsible for the content, accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of their manuscripts, including all data, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions presented. The use of AI-assisted tools does not diminish or transfer this responsibility

Copyright Notice

An author who publishes in JAF agrees to the following terms:

• Author retains the copyright and grants the journal the right of first publication of the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal
• Author is able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book) with the acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
• Author is permitted and encouraged to post his/her work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of the published work (See The Effect of Open Access).
