Peer Review

Assignment Process – Peer Review (Journal Dictum)

  1. Submission Received
  • The manuscript is submitted by the author(s) through the Online Submission System (OJS).
  • The system automatically notifies the author(s) of receipt.
  1. Initial Screening by Editorial Office
  1. Scope & Quality Check by Editor-in-Chief (EiC) / Handling Editor
  • The EiC or handling editor assesses whether the manuscript fits the journal’s aims and scope.
  • A preliminary quality check is performed, including a plagiarism check (using Turnitin/iThenticate or equivalent).
  • Manuscripts that are unsuitable or of insufficient quality may be desk rejected at this stage.
  1. Reviewer Assignment
  • The handling editor assigns 2–3 qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area of the manuscript.
  • Reviewers are selected based on subject knowledge, publication record, and absence of conflicts of interest.
  • Review invitations are sent via OJS, and reviewers confirm their availability within a defined timeframe.
  1. Peer Review Process
  • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript thoroughly, focusing on:
    • Originality, methodology, theoretical framework, results, discussion, and contribution to the field.
    • Constructive comments and recommendations (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject).
  • Reviewers submit their reports via OJS.
  1. Editorial Decision
  • The handling editor reviews the feedback from reviewers and makes a preliminary decision:
    • Reject.
    • Revise and Resubmit (major or minor revision).
    • Accept with Minor Revisions.
    • Accept without Revisions.
  • If necessary, a second round of review may be requested.
  1. Revision by Author(s)
  • If revisions are required, author(s) address all reviewer comments.
  • The revised manuscript and a response-to-reviewer document (detailing how each comment was addressed) are uploaded via OJS.
  1. Final Decision
  • The editor evaluates the revised manuscript.
  • If satisfactory, the manuscript is formally accepted for publication.
  • If revisions remain insufficient, the manuscript may be returned for further revision or rejected.
  1. Production & Publication
  • Accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage (copyediting, typesetting, and proofing).
  • The final version is published in the assigned journal issue.
